Details
Arctic is a linear pendant, which is the correct answer whenever the surface below the light is longer than it is wide. A single bar suspended over a dining table or kitchen island lights the full length evenly, where a round pendant would leave the ends in shadow and a cluster of three would add visual clutter to an otherwise clean scheme.
Three lengths are offered at eighty, one hundred and one hundred and twenty centimetres. The rule of thumb is to choose a bar roughly two thirds the length of the table beneath it, which keeps the fitting in proportion and the light where people are seated. Brown and black lamp bodies are available, letting the fitting either warm towards timber furniture or read as a crisp graphic line.
Both neutral white and dimmable versions are stocked. Over a dining table the dimmable version is almost always worth the difference, since a bar that is right for homework at seven is rarely right for dinner at nine. This is a hardwired ceiling fitting suspended on cables, so installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, who will also level the bar accurately during fitting. Allow for the bar to be centred on the table rather than on the room, as the two rarely coincide once furniture is in place.
