Details
Astrid is a chandelier built for the spaces most fittings cannot fill. Long slender arms carry individual heads at staggered heights, forming a cascade rather than a flat ring, and the result is a fitting that occupies vertical volume and gives a tall room a centre. In an open stairwell or an atrium, this is the piece that finally makes the space feel resolved.
Configurations run from twelve heads up to thirty, and the choice should follow ceiling volume rather than floor area. Twelve or eighteen heads suit a generous double-height hallway; twenty-eight and thirty are for genuinely large atriums and galleried stairwells where a smaller fitting simply disappears. Measuring the vertical drop available before ordering is the step most people skip and later regret.
Black and gold finishes are offered. Black reads as graphic and architectural against a pale wall; gold gives warmth and traditional weight in a period property. This is a large, heavy hardwired fitting. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, the ceiling fixing must be verified as capable of carrying the full load, and access for cleaning should be considered before the fitting is hung. A fitting of this size also needs to be seen from below and from any landing that overlooks it, so consider both viewpoints before settling on a drop height.
