Festoon Outdoor String Lights, 7.5-30m

Festoon string lights do more to change the feel of an outdoor space than almost any other fixture at the price. Slung between a house wall and a tree, or zigzagged across a courtyard, they draw a ceiling over the area and turn a patio into a room. The warm, low glow at head height is why they have become standard at weddings, terraces and garden parties.

Lengths run from a compact seven and a half metres with thirteen bulbs up to a thirty metre run carrying fifty-four, in both E12 and E27 fittings, so a small balcony and a full marquee can both be covered from the same range. The cable is designed for exterior use and the bulbs are weather resistant, allowing the strings to be left in place across a season rather than taken in after each evening.

Bulbs are replaceable individually, which matters over a long run where one failure would otherwise take down the look of the whole string. Supplied with EU plug fittings. Support the cable along its length rather than letting bulb weight hang on the wire, keep connections off the ground and away from standing water, and use an RCD-protected exterior socket for any outdoor installation.
