Details
This solar garden lantern gives a path or border definition after dark without a metre of cable being laid. An integrated panel charges through daylight hours and the lamp switches itself on at dusk, so there is no timer to set, no switch to remember and no trench to dig across a lawn. Placement is a matter of pushing the stake into soft ground where you want light.
The lantern form casts light downward and outward at ground level, which is what makes a path readable at night without the glare of a floodlight. Used in a run of four or six along a path edge or driveway, the effect is closer to landscape lighting than to security lighting, and the lanterns disappear into planting during the day rather than drawing the eye.
Ordinary and upgraded versions are offered in warm white, cool white and RGB, so the light can be matched to the planting and the house. As with all solar lighting, run time depends on how much direct sun the panel receives, so position away from deep shade and overhanging foliage, and expect shorter evenings of light in midwinter. The housing is weather resistant for normal rain exposure but is not designed for submersion in ponds or standing water.
