Details
The two-light Sayer is the wide version of the same sconce, carrying a pair of cloud glass shades on a twenty-five inch arm. That width is what makes it the right fitting above a wide bathroom mirror or a fireplace, where a single sconce would look undersized and a pair of separate fittings would need careful setting out to look even.
Two light sources spread across the width of a mirror give considerably better facial lighting than one, filling in the shadows that a single point source creates. Above a fireplace or a console it does something different, washing light across a broader stretch of wall and giving a room a horizontal anchor at the height where the eye naturally rests.
Cloud glass keeps the lamps visible as a soft glow rather than a glare, and aged brass gives the fitting the settled, unpolished warmth that suits period and transitional interiors alike. The sconce is damp rated, so bathroom positions are within scope. It is hardwired and should be installed by a qualified electrician, who will also confirm the correct bathroom zone and set the fitting level across its full width. Allow clearance above a mirror or mantel before ordering, as a 25-inch arm needs more wall than most people estimate by eye.
