Details
Sentry is a solar spotlight built for output rather than decoration. Where a path light marks an edge, a spotlight picks a subject out of the dark, and this one has the brightness to do it properly on a tree canopy, a wall, a hedge line, a garden sculpture or the face of an outbuilding.
It is sold in packs of two, four and ten, and buying in multiples is the right approach with uplighting. A single spotlight produces a flat, one-sided result; two units placed on opposite sides of the same tree give it depth and shape, and a set of ten allows a whole garden to be lit as a scheme rather than one feature at a time.
Warm white, natural white and multicolour versions are available. Warm white flatters bark, brick and planting; natural white reads crisper on render and modern surfaces; multicolour suits seasonal use. Each unit charges from its own panel and lights automatically at dusk, so no cable is needed. Brightness and run time depend on daily sunlight, so keep panels clear of the foliage being lit. Housings are rain resistant but not rated for submersion. Angle the head so the beam falls on the subject rather than across a neighbouring window or a footpath.
